Day 2
Choose to grow & learn from God’s word
2 Timothy 3:16 – 16 All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.
1 Peter 2:2-3 – 2 Like newborn babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of salvation. Cry out for this nourishment, 3 now that you have had a taste of the Lord’s kindness.
2 Pet 3:18 – Rather, you must grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
All glory to him, both now and forever! Amen.
Hebrews 6:1-3 – 1 So let us stop going over the basic teachings about Christ again and again. Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding. Surely we don’t need to start again with the fundamental importance of repenting from evil deeds and placing our faith in God. 2 You don’t need further instruction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. 3 And so, God willing, we will move forward to further understanding.
What is God teaching me?
For me, growing sometimes is a choice I fail to make. The most dangerous time for my spiritual walk is when everything is cruising along ok – the ordinary. In a crisis I am seeking the Lord because I know that is my source of hope, but in the ordinary I can get plain old lazy. If I don’t need anything from the Lord I can allow my priorities to slip. Of course that is terrible logic on my part, because when I get lazy it makes me an easy target for the devil.
The Lord is teaching me to be faithful in every season, to be steadfast, and to prioritize my time with Him. What about you? What is God teaching you?
Until tomorrow,
